THE FOURTH TRIMESTER RECONNECT

“I cannot recommend Laura’s FTR program enough!”

The exercises are easy to follow, increasing in difficulty each week and they really do work. I’ve had 2 pregnancies and vaginal deliveries, and when I started (about four months post my second baby) I struggled with slight incontinence when I jumped or sneezed. But even more so I struggled with painful sex. Laura changed my life! I have no pain whatsoever and have been able to reclaim such an important part of my life before children, which has been massive for both my physical and mental happiness. And in addition to the physical help, Laura was there every step of the way with her kind, patient, and loving way. I took many breaks (due to sleep deprivation, not finding the time, etc.) and she could not have been more accommodating or supportive. In my opinion, this program is a must for all moms! – Donna

I wanted to start exercising 6 weeks after having my baby, but I felt I needed to get my core and pelvic floor in good shape. At the beginning, I thought that it was going to be hard to find the time to exercise with my baby being only 8 weeks old, but knowing that you were communicating with me and following my progress every week, made me hold myself accountable and stay committed. Now that I finished, I do feel that my core and pelvic floor are stronger and my core looks better. I was lucky to meet Laura when I was living in London and as soon as I wanted some advice on exercise to do during pregnancy, I thought of no better person. Even from Milan, she was able to help me with excellent Zoom sessions. She really guided me through all the steps and was clear, competent and professional. Her passion for health and fitness really shown through then, but it wasn’t until she got pregnant (and continued training me up until she delivered) that I saw her passion start to take a different shape. She began studying and immersing herself in pre-postnatal fitness, focusing on safe and crucial exercises that every pregnant woman needs.She became certified right at the beginning of my pregnancy, which was great timing for me! Im so grateful I had someone as caring and knowledgeable as Laura guiding me through each stage of my pregnancy, teaching me proper breathing techniques, pelvic floor strengthening exercises and how to be more in tune with my body and baby. Pregnancy causes so many changes in your body (many of them unseen) that I wouldn’t recommend doing anything on your own without professional supervision – and Laura is just that kind of professional you need. BIRTH PREP

“I don’t know if this short story is going to completely express how thankful I am that Laura was put in my path during my pregnancy.”

My first son ended up in a c-section and it was a traumatic experience for me. I got pregnant and again and COVID happened, I really didn’t know what to expect, but having a VBAC was my #1 goal to be less time in the hospital and have a better recovery since I have a 3-year-old. This wouldn’t have been possible without Laura’s help (all online). I was amazed how no one made me aware of every single part of my body that was going to be involved in the delivery, until I started to talk with Laura. Every exercise, every picture, and info that she gave me, made me connect and work with my body. During the last month of my pregnancy, every single day I was doing exercises to prepare my body, and Laura was always present to encourage me and see how I was feeling. Even with an epidural, I was able to focus just like she showed me and relax my pelvic floor, breathing and pushing the right way so that my baby was able to come down. I enjoyed working and knowing what my body was doing during labor. I felt connected. And today I can say that my VBAC was thanks to Laura. – Mariana

I was 38 weeks when I did Laura’s class to prepare for labor. I wish I have done it a bit sooner because the exercises and information were truly helpful, not just for labor but also to move and feel good in those last few weeks. I had a big bump and was very bloated, moving around for me was not easy, so the relief from these exercises was crucial. After the class, I started doing a daily routine that made me feel more in sync with my body and baby. I was in labor for more than 20 hours and the breathing techniques taught by Laura were key to focus and relax. I did great pushing, and I am sure it had to do with the Push Prep I learnt from her. What I learnt in a couple of hours was totally worthy for the upcoming challenge. – Cristina

I attended Laura’s Mommy & Me classes during my entire pregnancy and since the first class, I was impressed by her teaching method, her focus on the correct way of breathing, and how passionate was about it. So, I decided to attend her Birth Prep class towards the end of my pregnancy because I was curious to know about her Push Prep method. I had told her that my experience with my first son was a bit traumatic and I was terrified of going through that again. Fortunately, in the class she showed me how to push in the most effective way. Labor Day came and I did exactly what she taught me, the doctor and nurse looked at each other and said, “she knows how to push!”, I pushed 5 times and in 10 minutes I had my baby girl in my arms! That same night I thanked Laura because I knew that it was because of what she had taught me that the experience was so much better than my first time! I will be forever grateful! – Alessandra

I started coming to Laura’s Mommy & Me class about 3 months after having my first baby, Hattie. Being a first-time mom, I didn’t know what to expect from the postpartum recovery process, and I was looking for activities that would encourage me to get out of the house with Hattie safely. Laura’s Mommy & Me class was one of our favorite activities! Laura is very knowledgeable about the physical challenges that moms face after giving birth, and she promotes healthy recovery through fitness, while supporting and encouraging each mom no matter where she is in the recovery process. The class is also a great activity that moms can do with or without babies, or even pregnant. I really enjoyed bringing Hattie to the Mommy & Me class, and I knew that if we had bad day, I could always count of the support of Laura and the other moms in the class. I had the pleasure of working out with Laura long before I was pregnant. While she has always been an excellent trainer, it was clear to me from the first class that her true passion is pre-and-post-natal education and training. Her class will not only prepare you for labor and delivery and get back you on track for faster recovery physically, but it will also help you feel more prepared emotionally because all the support you get from her and the other moms. She is excellent at providing low and high impact modifications and making you feel that you are doing your best.
